This notice covers information shared when you visit the website, book a call, send an email, or work with MITRAS Medical Advisory. Ethan Shak is the privacy contact for the practice.
When you visit the website
The services that run and protect this website may collect basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the time of the request, and security signals. This information is used to load the site, keep it reliable, and prevent abuse.
MITRAS does not use advertising trackers, does not set marketing cookies, and does not sell information about website visitors.
Links to LinkedIn and other external sites take you to services governed by their own privacy notices.
When you book a call
The booking page is run by an outside scheduling service. You can read its privacy notice here. The service receives what you enter and shares it with MITRAS so the call can be scheduled and your enquiry can be answered. It may process information outside Canada.
A short label in the booking link may tell MITRAS which page led you to the calendar. That label does not contain patient, medical, or research information.
When you email or speak with MITRAS
MITRAS receives your email address, message, attachments, and any other information you choose to share. This information is used to answer you, decide whether the work may be a fit, prepare an engagement if you ask to proceed, keep business records, and meet legal or professional obligations.
Please do not send patient names, medical records, health card numbers, or other personal health information in an initial email or booking form. A first conversation only needs a general outline of the research. If confidential records are needed later, MITRAS will agree with you on what is necessary and how to share it.
How information is shared and stored
MITRAS may use trusted service providers for the website, email, scheduling, professional advice, and claim work. They receive only the information needed for their role. Some may process information outside Quebec or Canada. Information may also be shared when the law requires it or when you authorize it.
MITRAS keeps information only as long as it is reasonably needed for an enquiry, an engagement, recordkeeping, or a legal or professional obligation. Reasonable safeguards are used, although no online service can promise complete security.
Your choices and questions
You may ask what personal information MITRAS holds about you, request a correction, withdraw consent where the law allows it, or raise a concern. MITRAS may need to confirm your identity first and may need to keep some records for legal or professional reasons.
